History of the Class of '58,
Hamilton College
A. Judd Northrup The author, as Class Secretary, importuned his
classmates to write a brief autobiography for inclusion in a class
history commemorating their 40th class reunion. (For those whose
whereabouts were unknown, etc., he wrote, to the best of his knowledge,
a sketch of their lives.) Many entries also have pictures. Most
have northern New York connections. For example, George J. Sicard
wrote, "You say '58 wants my history... I was born in New York
City, Feb. 24, 1838. My father (was) Stephen Sicard. My mother was
Lydia Hunt, daughter of Montgomery Hunt, the first cashier of the Bank
of Utica, N.Y..."
