Objective:
Uniting Families Past and Present;
Near and Far
Hi! I'm Pat James. This
site has been developed by my husband, Rex. His encouragement and
expenditures of talent, etc. in behalf of my New York Ancestry
efforts are unparalleled. If you want to
learn more about us, etc. go to the "FAQ" page. If you
want a brief explanation of New York Ancestry , here it is:
The whole idea behind New York Ancestry
is to help others further their research while having fun doing what I
love to do. That is, literally 'uncover' ancestors. Allow me
to explain --
In my research I've found many interesting
publications relating to New York. If such are not easily available through Salt
Lake's Family History Library and branches, I've tried to make that information
available through various compilations and newsletters. (For a
complete listing, search our Publications.) The sources for these
come from old and rare books, some of which are collected in the travels my
husband and I take periodically. When I go through a rare book
and take from it all the names, it's almost like walking through a
cemetery. Genealogists alike will agree with me how interesting that
can be. Also, you wouldn't believe some of the stories related
within a 'lost' book's pages!
Doing family history is one of the
most wholesome activity around. You learn so much about history,
geography, religion, cultures, etc. You find yourself training your
mind to be incisive, perceptive, detailed. You become a writer
when you produce a family newsletter or the family's
genealogy. New York Ancestry wishes to help you gain insights
via its features Monthly Tips, Facts and Fun, and lastly, Murder,
Mystery and Mayhem.
We hope you enjoy browsing our
website.
